I am pleased to be able to present to you today my latest painting;
“Benoit Mandelbrot Breaks Wind”
Oil on Canvas – 50”x30”
You probably would not expect, looking at this alien landscape, that you are looking at a macroscopic view of the famous mathematician, Benoit Mandelbrot’s rectum. In Mandelbrots attempt to describe nature, it was his observation that there is nothing smooth in nature. The shape of mountains, clouds or a cauliflower, are not smooth, but fractal, and for the first time, my latest painting here captures that even a gaseous eruption can follow the form of the famous fractal. Also shown for the first time is the fractal geometry found in the buttocks area, and at the moment of expulsion, the fractal shrapnel that ensues.
I do not know if this oil painting is the first or only depiction of this act, but am certain it is the most beautiful.
