Artist's Comments

In 1973-4 Dali was as usual very interested in the 3rd dimension. This included utilizing his paranoid critical method on actual sculptures to result in double imagery painted directly on the sculptures. This resulted in two well known sculpture/paintings "Bust of Vermeer Turning into Three Figures Conversinig", and White Eagle". Few know that there was nearly a third such work which I proposed..."The Bust of David Masquerading as the Manger Scene". THe only fact that did not allow it to happen is I had produced a plaser sculpture and Dali only wanted to do the painting on marble....So....I did it. Here for the first time is the double imagery sculpture, that was nearly a Dali.

Bust of David Masquerading was produced by *LMarkoya during his time working with Surrealist Master Salvador Dali, and shows the workings of the famous double-image pieces in this paranoid critical model that is truly a piece of history. Incredible... To see one of (almost) Dali's work in 3D really returns a particular effect, it was really a very good idea of yours ! I love the way you painted it's eyes/fave...

now, that is an amazing story! An interesting piece of history that I'm humbled to encounter!

If you could, would you have made a marble sculpture? Now that would be something to behold, with or without dali's input!

Best piece of surrealism I have seen, why have I not seen more like this? Either I have been living under a rock, or there is something wrong with the world!
